Captain Jon Darnell will be touring you along as you search these beautiful waters for your prize catch. Capt. Jon loves fishing and loves to see other people having a great time out fishing with him. He has been fishing the Texas coast from the Upper Laguna Madre to Baffin Bay and Landcut for over 20 years. Capt. Jon is well qualified to guide you on a safe, enjoyable bay fishing trip.

Your outdoor fishing charter trip with Capt. Jon will begin in Corpus Christi and could end up searching the waters near Portland, Mustang Island, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, Nueces Bay, Corpus Christi Bay, and many other fishing hotspots in Southern Texas.

Capt. Jon has a stunning 22ft Mako center console that makes fishing charters in Corpus Christi a dream come true. She is powered by a 200hp Mercury Optimax engine and can carry up to 3 people. She is equipped with quality navigational equipment and has plenty of seating, making this boat perfect for an enjoyable inshore fishing trip. She comes with a toilet on board, so fishing won’t have to get interrupted when nature calls.

Fishing the inshore waters of Corpus Christi with us will provide you with rods, reels, tackle, lures, and bait. A Texas fishing license with a saltwater stamp will be needed before each trip. Our crew will be happy to clean and fillet each catch after the trip, so you are able to enjoy as a meal later.

Fishing in Texas offers you a variety of different species to target. Captain Jon specializes in catching Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, and Black Drum. He will tailor the best fishing strategy and lures or bait for that day based on the current conditions, what you want to achieve, and what will provide you the most enjoyable fish catching experience.

Weekday Half Day Trip
I went out with Capt. Jon, solo. It was the day after the front. Cold but not real breezy. Capt Jon took me to a few spots. Started strong, but no keepers. Fun as all get out. Moved a bit, hit a couple with some keepers. Capt. Moved us a again and a few more. Mostly reds, just under, but fun fun, fun. Got back to original spot and hooked a couple fat trout and big red. I got to tell you. Capt. Jon is a great man as well as Capt. 5 stars is not enough. If you do not book with Capt. Jon, you will regret it. Not only did I find a great Capt., but a good friend along the way. Capt. Jon is knowledgeable, friendly, funny and all around a great fishing guide. My wife would not let me go again the next day, but told me I could go again! That is how awesome a time I had, and it was bite ass cold!

Weekday Full Day Trip
Captain Jon went above and beyond to make a great fishing trip for us. He worked with our schedules to help us select a date for our trip. I have been fishing for over 50 years; mostly freshwater, and I was very impressed with Capt. Jon’s attitude and his willingness to accommodate my physical disabilities. He told us at the start that fishing was slow due to the moon cycle, but that did not stop Capt. Jon! He put us on fish right away! I was very comfortable on his boat. His boating skills are top notch. He did not lose his cool when other fisherman went full throttle through our casting spot. He just moved on to another spot. My buddy caught a 32” Red and a 27” Spec right after we moved. While we did not limit out, we got close and caught some quality fish! Of all the guides I have hired or met, Capt. Jon has been by far the best! He answered all our questions and is very knowledgeable about the area. He listens and is great at figuring out where you need help. We will be hiring Capt. Jon for many more trips!

Weekday Full Day Trip
We did a full day with Captain Jon. There was a late freeze and we heard the fishing was spotty, Captain Jon put us on fish immediately and a limit of redfish was caught in 1.5 hours. Captain Jon stayed on the water until we caught our limit of trout. He was determined to get our last fish no matter what it took. He was very helpful with a new angler and then gave them their space once they were comfortable with what they were doing. Highly recommend
