Starting April 1 we fish the Western Basin of Lake Erie (between Toledo and Port Clinton). If you enjoy jig fishing for walleye this is the fastest and most exciting fishing of the season! The walleye are aggressive and have been known to pull the rod right out of the angler’s hands.

Once the walleye move off their spawning beds and into open waters, we’ll drift fish – casting spinners and worms. WE DO NOT TROLL!

Walleyes are the primary target until mid-August, when we turn our attention to Yellow Perch and Smallmouth Bass, who are biting constantly. Our season generally ends around the first week of November.

Your group of six can book a full day Lake Erie fishing trip with Captain Dennis and spend a wonderful 7 hours on the water. Trip prices include all six anglers, rods, reels, lures, bait, ice, and a knowledgable and polite crew. If you have a group larger than 6 people I can schedule additional boats to accommodate your larger party.

The Erie Hopper boat is not the standard fishing boat seen on Lake Erie: it’s a 2004 custom built 30′ Island Hopper with roomy 12′ beam. A fishing machine that gets us to the fishing grounds quickly with a 380 HP John Deere engine and is equipped with all USCG Safety Certified Features, GPS and navigational equipment, as well as toilet for those long days on the water. We are also wheelchair accessible.
