Captain David, with Just Fishing Guide Service, offers guided bay fishing trips in the Rockport, Texas area. Captain David Hill has been fishing in Rockport bays and flats for over 20 years. Fishing has always been his passion, and he’s excited about sharing this experience with you. He moved around Texas but always came back to Rockport to go fishing. He moved back to Rockport in 2006 and fishes here year ‘round. He’s ready to Just Fish… are you?! Just Fishing Guide Service transports your crew in a beautiful 24’ Tran Sport center console to the fishing grounds. The vessel can accommodate 4 anglers and has everything you need for a great day of fishing: including GPS and Fishfinder navigation equipment, trolling motor, and livewell. We’re powered by a 300HP Evinrude engine to get us to the fishing spots quickly and safely. Half day (4 hours) or Full day (8 hours) trips are available for four passengers. We’ll be fishing the bay using bottom fishing and drift fishing techniques. Texas inshore species include Flounder, Spotted Seatrout, Black Drum, and of course the ever-popular Redfish. Redfish is a great species to target as they put up a good fight, and the smaller ones (about 10-15lbs) taste really good. There is a bag limit and size limit that Captain David is well aware of and he’ll be sure to keep your group within regulations. Captain David provides Shimano and Penn rods and reels for you to use during the trip. You’re welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer, just let him know beforehand. The Captain uses live bait, cut bait, and lures on occasion (all provided in the cost of your trip). You can also book a wade fishing trip with Just Fishing Guide Service, but you will need to bring your own waders. At the end of your trip, Captain David will also clean and bag your catch. When packing for your Rockport fishing trip be sure to bring your Texas fishing license with saltwater stamp. These are available online or at local retail stores that sell fishing supplies (such as Walmart or Academy Sporting Goods). Polarized sunglasses are best for sight fishing; and be sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Also bring your food or snacks, sunscreen, and camera to capture the memories! Enjoy 6+ hours of saltwater fishing on the Texas Gulf Coast bays and flats surrounding Rockport, Texas. Capt. David supplies baits, natural and artificial, rods and reels, or you may also bring your own favorite rod and reel combination. He will also clean and bag your catch. Please bring your current saltwater fishing license.

Enjoy 6 hours of saltwater fishing on the Texas Gulf Coast, casting your line in bays and flats surrounding Rockport. Capt. David supplies bait, natural and artificial, and quality rods and reels, or you may also bring your own equipment. You will be on the lookout for Black Drum, Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. The captain will clean and bag your catch at the end of your trip.

Spend 4 to 8 hours flounder gigging on a boat that is perfectly suited for this adventure. You will leave the dock at sundown, and have the chance to see the bay come to life under the boat's lights while you search for Flounder to gig.

6 Hour Trip – Bay Fishing (AM)
CAPT Hill advised us to arrive early so we started early and were in the fish the entire time catching more than 30 (it was hard to keep an accurate count) and finishing up w a limit of Red fish that would be the envy of any knowledgeable fisher person. CAPT Hill knows the waters and he knows the fish equally well. Bait tackle boat all in top condition we easily fit four adults and the captain on the boat. A fifth would have been no trouble. CAPT Hill is both courteous and professional. My first fishing trip in Rockport is one my son and I will recall for the remainder of our lives. The next time we are here we will call CAPT Hill again. I fully endorse him. Rhett

6 Hour Trip – Bay Fishing (AM)
Captain called to recommend switching to an afternoon trip. Trusting his expertise, we agreed- and did it pay off! Morning was gray and rainy, with dense fog. We met and loaded up the boat around noon, and were off in minutes. While the weather was still cloudy and misting, it wasn’t bad. Captain David had us up and fishing in minutes, and we had fish on fairly quickly, but only one keeper. Moving on to new spots, the Captain would quickly and expertly have lines in the water, with fish on in minutes. It was amazing to us how quick we started to get fish the moment we set up in a new space. My family had an amazing time, we caught 10 Reds and 5 Black Drum plus a bunch of smaller fish that had to go back, but that were amazingly fun to land. Highly recommend Just Fishing and Captain David Hill. We’ll be back to use his services again.

My wife and I travel to the area often and spend a lot of time fishing. Most of the time I fish without the use of a guide, but do use them from time to time. Our experience with David was great! He is professional, courteous and informative. He even pointed out what I thought was a trash bag, was in fact, a bird…all free of charge! My wife and I had our limit of reds at our first stop and then went around looking for other species and larger reds. We caught and released another limit of keepers and had a great time. We wouldn’t hesitate to use David’s service again.
