Captain Jim has 25 years of experience fishing in the Clearwater Florida area and he’s a 12-year Coast Guard veteran making him very comfortable on the water than anywhere else. He loves having families on board so grab your kids and get ready for an awesome fishing trip while basking in the Florida sun!
Your trip will take place on a 27’ center console powered by 150HP twin Yamaha engines. This quick and agile boat will get you to the fishing grounds in no time!! She’s comes equipped with modern electronics such as a fish finder and a GPS. The live well is filled with fresh bait for your trip and the wireless trolling motor will have you sneaking up on your prey. Downriggers and outriggers come equipped as well. For your safety all USCG approved safety gear is on board. Captain Jim welcomes anglers of all skill level to join the fun with J. Van Charters.
Captain Jim will make sure that you’re set up for a successful day on the water with J. Van Charters as top of the line rods, reels, tackle, and lures are supplied. The fresh bait and the fishing license for you and all of your guests is also supplied. Whether you’re looking to hit the nearshore or offshore waters, Captain Jim and his crew will try their very best to put you on the fish with the many fishing trips that are offered by J. You and your guests will hit the shallow flats in search of Snook, Tarpon, Sheepshead, and Jack Crevalle. The nearshore waters will get you King Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, Spanish Mackerel, different species of Grouper, Triggerfish, Barracuda, and Cobia. Hit the offshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico for Amberjack, Tuna, and more. After your successful day on the water with J. Van Charters, the First Mate will clean and fillet your fish for you.
