We will clean and package any catch you are able to keep at the end of each trip.

This Great Lake provides many fishing opportunities and Capt. Mark will strive to make sure you come back to the dock with coolers full of catches. Some of the species we love to target on our Lake Erie fishing charters include Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Yellow Perch, and Lake Trout.

I offer an exceptional fishing experience out of Buffalo NY. I specialize in a light tackle experience for all species targeted!

Fishing out of Buffalo, we will always catch Smallmouth Bass and/or Walleyes, Perch are seasonal, either early spring, April and May and again in September and October.

Walleye charter:

We will catch trophy walleyes from the first Saturday in May (season opener) through the end of October. We mainly fish with worms (my own homemade spinner rigs) and bottom bouncers.  We bottom bounce for walleyes from .8 to a maximum of 1.4 MPH. Typically I use over 3,500 worms during the season. We will fish all techniques to catch walleye, from bottom bouncing in 10’ to 120’ of water, or using jigs, blade baits, or the drop shot technique. Early in the season we fish with jigs and blade baits. As soon as the water gets above 50°F, the walleye will start to bite the worms and will continue biting on worms until the end of the season. When the winds are right (rough!) we can drift and catch walleyes by jigging and/or by drop shot. When the walleyes want to suspend from 10’ to 100’ down in the water column, we can use inline boards with worm harnesses using either inline weights, jet divers or torpedo divers to get the worm harnesses down to the walleyes.  Downriggers or dipsy divers are not used on my charters.

Smallmouth bass charter:

Lake Erie from Buffalo to Barcelona – is the best Trophy Smallmouth Bass fishing around. I practice Catch and Release only on my boat. We fish with very light tackle, live bait and artificial lures. Mid-April thru Mid-June is the best time for the largest bass. However, bass are active all year and are fun to catch anytime. Typically, we fish with the Carolina rig (live or artificial baits), football head tube jigs, or drop shots on structure out in the lake. Bass are out in the lake feeding on gobies, shiners, or crawfish.

Perch charter:

Perch are best to catch just after the ice melts on the lake, in April and then through the end of May. Fishing starts up again in late August and through the end of October when the perch school up again after the summer. We will fish with very light tackle, live bait and artificial lures. Typically, we search for the perch schools using our electronics to find the perch located near the bottom in 50 to 60 feet of water. We anchor the boat over the active feeding school of perch using the electric trolling motor. From there we either use traditional perch style rigs (I make my own) vertically. Or what I prefer is to cast out from the boat, and slowly retrieve the perch rig back to boat. Fun!
