Welcome to Pelican Adventures! Get ready for a great day of light tackle inshore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico aboard the “Just Right”. The Captain of “Just Right” offers exciting inshore and nearshore fishing trips that are fun for everyone! Whether you’re bringing the family or are in town by yourself, come enjoy a day out on the water catching all the fish you can manage.
Inshore trips are great for families or new-to-fishing anglers. The waters are generally calmer and you see more action than the offshore trips. “Just Right” fishes the bays of Destin, Florida and offer techniques such as spinning, drifting, jigging, and trolling. We’re happy to teach any of these techniques if needed; don’t hesitate to ask questions!
Inshore species include Redfish, Flounder, Spotted Seatrout, Sheepshead, Bluefish, and more! Aboard the 21ft Center Console we can accommodate 4 anglers; this gives us plenty of room to cast without getting in each other’s way. “Just Right” is Pelican Adventures’ private charter – which means you get the boat all to yourself!
“Just Right” and Pelican Adventures provides everything you’ll need for a successful day of fishing: licenses, bait, top-of-the-line rods and reels. We will also clean and bag your catch at the end of the trip. Make sure to keep a cooler in your car to take your fresh fish dinner home with you!

I took my wife and three daughters snorkeling for the first time on the two stop trip and it was great. The first stop was a little murky do to the tropical storm that came through the day before (not Pelicans fault) but the second stop did not disappoint. We were able to collect several cool shells and see a lot of small marine life. The crew was fantastic and I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you have small children.
Jeff and Horn made the whole process really easy and did everything for us. Both are funny and made it fun

This was one of my best fishing trips. I found The Double Down with capt Tim Baxter online because of the great reviews. The boat is a new 2018 that handled 6ft swells on our trip like a champ. There’s plenty of room for five people and storage space for coolers or anything that needs to be kept dry. Captain Tim was the best captain I’ve ever had the pleasure of fishing with. Tim was on time, knew where to fish and when, helped the deck hand when he wasn’t driving, assisted with any questions we had, was clear with his instructions, and very fluent in every task. All this equals to keeping you reeling in fish and getting more bang for your money! Dane Minnick, our deck hand was awesome. He’s actually the captain of another charter and was working with Capt Tim on our trip. So we had two captains keeping us busy reeling. Dane was easy to get along with, has a good sense of humor, very knowledgeable about fishing techniques, helped us with anything we had, and very fast with the fishing gear and tackle which kept our lines in the water making our fishing trip very efficient. Now to address the part everyone hates, the cost. In my opinion, you get what you pay for. I paid for experience, efficiency, knowledge, laughs, memories, a private trip(just my wife and I had the vessel to ourselves), fun, and most of all a better than average fishing trip. And that’s what I got. Not the normal party boat experience where a single person won’t keep their line tight and it tangles all 20 people on one side of the yacht. Though still fun and cheap, that’s not the way to catch 9 Mahi Mahis like we did on this trip with Tim and Dane. So in conclusion, if the price sways you away, just be sure to bring 5 people and split it. We will be back Tim! And Dane we will not forget you!

I sent my boyfriend and our sons on good Times Wednesday morning. I am not sure the crews names or the fish they caught, I just know that our boys ages 11 and 15 loved every minute of it. My 15-year-old said this was the best time of his life. The crew seemed exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. Even though we had a six hour schedule it seem to fly by because it was so fun. Thanks so much
