Have you ever gone on a private trip (guide service) only to be disappointed with the quality of tackle you used? Not had the proper tackle necessary to perform the task? Well this is one of my pet peeves. I have done many charters over the years and the majority were utilizing poor quality Rod’s and Reels spooled with two year old mono etc. etc.

Well catching fish is what we are there for but you should also enjoy using a good rod and reel at the same time. One of the most common things stated to me during my trips is “man I really like this setup” and “Do you build and sell these?”

Why yes… I do!

My name is Captain Todd; and I began fishing when I was just a young boy. You can find me fishing the local waters of Florida pretty much any chance I can. I enjoy the outdoors and sharing this passion with family, friends, and customers (soon to be friends). With a previous career in the fishing rod industry, I now custom build every rod on my trips to make sure the quality and setup is perfect for the customer’s satisfaction.

Spot Stalker Charters is a great option for your next Florida fishing adventure. When you book your private fishing charter with Spot Stalker Charters, you get a professional and knowledgeable Captain, passageway for up to three anglers, fishing licenses, and memories for a lifetime!

Your group will be fishing from a 19’ Spyder flats boat powered by 115HP Yamaha. And you will be using the best equipment available including FFP reels, MHX custom rods, live bait and lures. Captain Todd also provides water, but you are welcome to bring your own favorite beverage (no glass please). Make sure you also bring food, sunblock, hat, polarized sunglasses (especially if you plan on sight fishing), and comfortable clothes. Note that you can keep your catch, but catch-and-release is encouraged.

Among the many fish species available, we target Snook, Spotted Seatrout, Tripletail, Redfish, Barracuda, Black Drum, Black Seabass, Flounder, Jack Crevalle, Sheepshead, and more! Specializing in fly fishing and spinning with light tackle; or you can go sight fishing with our customer spinning or bait casting rods. If you like fishing on the fly, Captain Todd can accommodate you – just let him know in advance. Captain Todd is happy to educate or instruct your technique as needed. Anglers of all skill level are welcome aboard. Feel free to ask questions about your preferred technique.

A most popular charter in the summer months as we can adjust the times to be on the water at 5:30 or 6:00 AM and off around 10:00 AM before it gets miserable. These trips in the other 9 months of the year are great for short jaunts for tailing reds first thing in the morning.

3/4 Day Charter

This is our most popular choice in an inshore charter as we can adjust the start times to be on the water when the sunrise and weather best suits us. These trips are great year around and allow for some moving around when fish are more scarce or finicky.

A typical 3/4 day Beach trip is dependent on the time of year when it comes to species found. For most of the year, you can find Kingfish on just a short trip from the beach. Year-round, Sharks, Snook and Bonita can be found on the beach or not that far off. The July – September period has you encountering Tarpon, Sharks, and Snook right on the beach. There are a multitude of species to be had from Tripletail on the buoys to sharks of many species, bonita, kingfish, spanish mackerel, Tarpon and Snook.

The hot times (I mean temperature) bring on much bait right in the surf along with that follows the predator species. During July, August and September Bonita can be had fairly easily with fly, now that is a kick……… During the same time Sharks, Tarpon & Snook are feeding on large schools of bait just a couple hundred feet off the beach.

This is always a good time and fun for all.
