The Mighty Heron Fishing, Cruising and WIldlife Watching

Welcome to The Mighty Heron! Capt. Mike’s charter is located In Somers Point, just a few blocks from the base of the Ocean City Ninth Street Bridge and minutes from Garden State Parkway Parkway exit 30. Capt. Mike has 45 years of experience fishing the area, from the back creeks to the canyons.

He can accommodate any age, experience and aptitude. This crew simply loves to fish. They take great pride in working with novices of all ages in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They will coach and help you every step of the way. Your enjoyment and entertainment is our top priority!

For the experienced, results-driven angler, they’re ready. Capt. Mike provides high quality bait and tackle and always work hard to put you on the fish.

Fish onboard a 24’ Hydra-Sports that accommodate up to 6 guests. She’s powered by a 225 HP Yamaha engine, has the latest Garmin electronics, and a private toilet.

During Summer, you can target Flounder in the back bays and Flounder, Seabass, and Triggerfish on the ocean structures. On these same trip, you can also troll or snag and drop bait seeking the whole spectrum of various specie that can be found during the warmer months.

Autumn offers sea bass and tog on the ocean structures. Bluefish are to be found but Striped Bass rule the day. As appropriate, you troll, jig, live-line or cast depending on what is working.

The Mighty Heron don’t try to claim being the “best” and certainly no guarantees. It is, after all, fishing. What they do promise is a professional, organized, and personable captain and our best efforts to put you on the fish. Welcome aboard!
