Another Great Father/Son fishing trip. Todd and Travis both hooked up to bull redfish at the same time. I had my hands full but was able to squeeze both fish in the landing net. It made for a great photo opportunity. They took home 2 slot size Redfish, a Spotted Seatrout and 2 Spanish Mackeral for dinner. We also caught several small Snook. Not sure how we didn’t get to battle a Jack Crevalle as they were crashing all around us at one point. We even had a school of Jacks follow our lure to the boat. We fished with light-weight spinning gear. We caught half our fish with live shrimp under popping corks and the other half on jigs and shallow diving crankbaits. The St. Johns River is exceptionally clear now with a high salt content which is the reason the fish are so plentiful. Mild water temperatures has the fish fired up. I expect April to be an outstanding month for Redfish and Spotted Seatrout. Stay healthy, I hope you get to enjoy the outdoors this month.
