I have been fortunate enough to Field Test for Bomber, Cotton Cordel, YUM, Smithwick, Heddon, Rebel and Booyah Baits for over 20 years. I recently took Outdoor Writer Jeff Samsel out for a day of field testing on the St. Johns River and it’s backwater tributaries. The trip was planned for this time of year when the water cools off which usually triggers many inshore species to fire off. Jeff and I caught Redfish, Black Bass and Snook. We Fished with Bomber Jigs paired with YUM Pulse Soft Plastics and Cordel Minnows which are shallow diving mullet imitators. This brackish water fishery is on fire in the Shadows of Dowtown Jacksonville and we can pick you up waterside right behind the waterfront hotels within our City Limits if desired. Another great option that has just fired off is the outstanding Intracoastal Waterway Spotted Seatrout and Redfish bite. Sight-fishing for redfish will be best on early morning incoming tides and high water will be outstanding for Spotted Seatrout with plugs and jigs on the edges of the flooded Spartina Flats. We like to cast artificial lures aboard Blue Cyclone which is one of the reasons we limit our crew to 2 anglers. We want it to be a top notch experience and we don’t want to over crowd the boat. If you prefer to fish with bait or want to do both we can accommodate this as well. Let us customize a trip just for you.
